In between these we have a 120 credit Level 4 Higher International Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a 240 credit Level 5 Higher International Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

These courses cover all the major electrical and electronic engineering subject matter that would be expected in a university level course such as electrical and electronic principles, engineering product design, electrical machines, electrical energy, renewable energy, digital electronics, machine learning, instrumentation, control and engineering management for instance.

What Online Electrical and Electronic Courses do we offer?

We have a range of fully accredited electrical and electronic engineering courses:

International Graduate Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Level 6) [120 Credit Top Up]

International Graduate Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Level 6)

UK Accredited Electrical and Electronic Engineering Qualifications

Higher International Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EduQual Level 4) [120 credits]

This online electrical and electronic engineering course has a total of 120 credits meaning that it is benchmarked to be equivalent to a full year of undergraduate study. Moreover, being a Level 4 electrical and electronic engineering course means that it is benchmarked to the first year of a university degree course in electrical and electronic engineering.

Most students are eligible to enrol directly on to this course because we teach you all the maths and science that you need to be successful with the rest of the course.

Students that already have a level 4 qualification in engineering, or those that have completed our Higher International Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EduQual Level 4) qualification, are eligible to enrol on to

Higher International Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EduQual Level 5) [240 credits]

This online course develops your knowledge in electrical and electronic engineering at a deeper and more specialist level and once completed you will become eligible to apply to universities to top-up your qualification to degree level.

Students working on a part time basis can typically complete these courses in a time frame of between 1 and 3 years. However, you are in control of your own learning, and it is in principle possible to finish the course much sooner than this.

Most students are eligible to enrol directly on to this course because we teach you all the maths and science that you need to be successful with the rest of the course.

International Graduate Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Level 6) [360 credits and 120 Credits Top Up]

The International Graduate Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a Level 6 qualification designed to advance your engineering knowledge to an internationally recognised graduate level. This fully online programme provides an in-depth exploration of specialist mechanical engineering topics, preparing learners for engineering career progression or further study. This course is available as both a 360 credit version which incorporates level 4, 5 and level 6 units, and also as a 120 credit top-up level 6 version for students that already have a level 5 qualification.

Upon successful completion, graduates will be well-positioned to apply for postgraduate study or pursue roles requiring advanced technical and analytical skills in electrical and electronic engineering.

The course is designed for flexibility, allowing students to study at their own pace. Those studying part-time typically complete the programme within 24 to 36 months, although learners who dedicate more time to their studies can complete the course more quickly.

Unlike traditional electrical and electronic engineering programmes that require a strong prior background in mathematics and science, this diploma supports open access enrolment, This is possible because we provide foundation units covering engineering mathematics and science ensuring students acquire the necessary mathematical and scientific foundations to succeed prior to progressing to the specialist electrical and electronic engineering subjects later in the course.

This qualification is ideal for individuals looking to bridge the gap between undergraduate and postgraduate engineering study or enhance their expertise for career advancement in specialised electrical and electronic engineering fields.

Engineering Diploma [40 credit]

We also offer a range of shorter online electrical and electronic engineering courses leading to the accredited qualifications of:

Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Diploma in Electrical Technology

Diploma in Renewable Energy (Electrical)

Diploma in Electronics

These qualifications are ideal for learners that wish to study a specific topic of interest to them all who wish to complete the course in a shorter time frame then our full 120 credits courses above. These 40 credit qualifications can typically be completed in a time frame of between two and six months.

Fast Track Qualifications [20 credit]

For students who are looking to complete an online electrical and electronic engineering course in the shortest time frame possible, we have the following accredited 20 credit qualification:

Certificate in Engineering (EduQual level 4/5)

Students can typically complete this fast-track engineering course online within one to three months.

What Is Electrical and Electronic Engineering?

Electrical and Electronic engineering plays a critical role in many industries including aerospace, manufacturing, renewable energy and automotive. The so-called Industry 4.0 is increasingly being built around the ability of engineering companies to embrace advanced, digital, ways of working.
Fundamentally, Electrical engineering is the design, build, application of, and maintenance of electrical control systems, machinery and equipment. However, it’s increasingly important that electrical engineers also understand the engineering principles that underpin the world around us, in order to integrate digital control to physical machines and robots.

In our online electrical and electronic engineering  courses you will learn about engineering design, electrical and electronic principles, electrical machines,  industrial systems, and renewable energy systems and storage. In addition you will cover the fundamental maths and science that underpin engineering as a whole.

Engineering is often said to be the application of science, and never was it truer than in today’s modern economy where it plays a pivotal role in the development of new solutions to today’s global problems.

Electrical and Electronic engineering is one of the fundamental areas of engineering, comprising of many sub-disciplines all of which play a significant role in shaping the solutions to many of today’s human problems. Electrical and Electronic engineering can be found everywhere from transportation, computing, energy and sustainability.
